A key element of capitalism is its disregard for negative consequences. It does not want to focus on the damage that it's actions do in other areas. 'If they are unseen then let's leave them that way!' it says. (Of course there is no one THING, one animal, one person, called capitalism that says and does all these things specifically. I'm just speaking of it in that way to save time and makes clear points). A key example is the pollution from factories and how it damages the environment around it. Or how Coca Cola abusing the water supply in various countries causes problems for the people in those areas. For example see this report by War on Want (who I did a book with in 2007):
"Coca-Cola's operations have particularly been blamed for exacerbating water shortages in regions that suffer from a lack of water resources and rainfall. Nowhere has this been better documented than in India, where there are now community campaigns against the company in several states. research carried out by War on Want in the Indian states of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh affirms the findings from Kerala and Maharastra that Coca-Cola's activities are having a serious negative impact on farmers and local communities."

Here is one very small, local example. In fact right in my own back yard!
